Zombie Out Run |
You can run, but you can't hide! The City of La Quinta has partnered with the Family YMCA of the Desert and the National Community Renaissance's Hope Through Housing Foundation to offer a zombie infested park, obstacles, traps, and a few surprises out at La Quinta Park this Halloween season! An All Ages Monster Dash will take place first followed by the Zombie Out Run for all those who dare! An event t-shirt will be provided to all those who preregister for the Zombie Out Run. All proceeds from this event will benefit the YMCA Youth & Government Program.
Date: Saturday, October 18 Time: 5:30pm - All Ages Monster Dash 7pm - Zombie Out Run (Zombie Out Run participants under 13 must be accompanied by an adult)
Where: La Quinta Park (corner of Adams and Blackhawk Way) Cost: $10 - All Ages Monster Dash pre-registration fee $20 (includes event t-shirt) - Zombie Out Run pre-registration fee

Disc Golf |
City of La Quinta and Helix Disc Golf have teamed up to bring you exciting disc golf. All ages are welcome - there will be a division for everybody. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in each division.

Cost: $10 per player

Dog-O-Ween |
Join us for a dog-gone good time! We invite dogs and their owners to participate in our Spooky contests, so don't be a "scaredy-cat." Prizes will be awarded for Best Duo Costume "Dog and Owner," Best Trick for a Treat, Funniest/Cutest Costume, and Best in Show. In partnership with TLC Dog Training and sponsored by Petsmart, La Quinta. All ages welcome!

Dog Vaccination Clinic |
City of La Quinta Animal Control is sponsoring a Rabies and Distemper/Parvo vaccination clinic. All dogs in the City of La Quinta must be vaccinated against Rabies and licensed. Stop by La Quinta City Hall South Parking Lot.
When: Saturday, October 4, 2014 Time: 9 - 11am Location: 78495 Calle Tampico City Hall South Parking Lot
(Corner of Avenida La Fonda and Washington)
Cost: RABIES SHOTS - $5 DISTEMPER/PARVO - $25 BORDETELLA - $20 La Quinta dog licenses will be available at the clinic.

Nature Walks and Hikes |
Provided by the Stewards of the Fred Wolff Nature Preserve. Join us each month for a unique look at our local environment with special guest leaders.
Nature Walks:
Third Saturday of the month beginning at 8am
All walks begin at the Shade Shelter on the Bear Creek Nature Trail at the corner of Calle Ensenada and Avenida Montezuma in the La Quinta Cove.
October 18 Fundamentals of Hiking: 10 Essentials with Jeff Smith
Guided hikes around the Coachella Valley with Philip Ferranti:
Hikes meet at 9am. All participants should dress appropriately and bring water.
October 11 Garner Valley
Meet at the Art Smith Trail parking lot off of Highway 74 about three miles south of the Highway 111 and Highway 74 intersection in Palm Desert.

The Center |
Construction on the La Quinta Community Health and Wellness project has begun. The facility is closed off to the public while we prepare for the new addition. Classes have been relocated to other City facilities.
New Amenities coming Early 2015:
